Shaobo Guan | research goals and approaches

Welcome to Shaobo's research website

CV, neurotree

I'm a research assistant in Dr. Mingsha Zhang' lab at Institute of Neuroscience, CAS, doing research in systems and computational neuroscience. My ultimate goal is to understand the code of the brain: what’s the neural codes that shape our perception and guide our behaviors (“what”); how the neural network computes and processes such codes (“how”); and why the brain adopts such coding strategies (“why”).

My current research interests are in the spatial information processing and sensorimotor transformation, with a focus on dorsal visual stream and oculomotor system. I adopt a range of approaches, including alert monkey electrophysiology, human psychophysics and computational modeling, trying to find the link between brain and behavior.
